Lawrence B. Wood, MS-Tax, CPA, CFP [Partner] As a partner in the firm, Lawrence B. Wood brings a unique perspective to clients' business and financial affairs. His entrepreneurial nature, technical skills and experience provide clients with creative, custom solutions to taxation and financial planning. Larry earned a masters degree in taxation from Golden Gate University, complementing an undergraduate degree in business administration from State University of New York. Prior to joining Smith, Lange & Phillips LLP, Larry was a tax manager at a big four accounting firm; Chief Financial Officer at a prominent Bay Area entertainment firm; and co-founder of a CPA firm in San Francisco. Larry is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Financial Planning Association and the San Francisco Estate Planning Council. He has served on the directorial boards of several non-profit organizations, and is the former president of Tax Aid in San Francisco. When he is not tending to clients' needs, Larry enjoys tennis and traveling with his wife. He and his wife live in Orinda, California.
